This is your YouTube Premium subscription, billed by Google. It removes ads from YouTube and includes YouTube Music.
GOOGLE*YOUTUBE or YOUTUBE PREMIUM on your statement is your YouTube Premium subscription — Google's paid tier that removes all adverts from YouTube and bundles YouTube Music at no extra charge. Because Google owns YouTube and processes all its payments, the charge will always show a Google-branded name on your bank statement rather than just "YouTube".
There are three main plans. The Individual plan at £13.99/month covers a single Google account. The Family plan at £22.99/month covers up to six family members living at the same address — each gets their own ad-free YouTube and YouTube Music. There is also a discounted Student plan available if you verify your enrolment through an eligible university; this typically costs around half the individual price but must be re-verified annually.
One thing that catches people out is that YouTube Premium occasionally runs free trials — these can last one, two, or even three months depending on the promotion. When the trial ends, billing begins automatically at the full rate. Google sends a reminder email before charging, but it can be easy to miss. If you think you cancelled but are still being charged, it is worth checking that you cancelled from the same Google account that holds the subscription — many people have more than one Google account.
