Patreon creator membership

✓ Legitimate charge

PATREON or PATREON* is a recurring monthly charge from Patreon, a platform that lets fans support their favourite creators — YouTubers, podcasters, artists, musicians, writers, and more — with a monthly pledge in exchange for exclusive content, early access, or other perks.

Each creator sets their own membership tiers and prices. You might be pledging anything from £1/month to £50/month or more. Patreon charges all memberships on the 1st of each month, regardless of when you originally signed up. If you support multiple creators, you'll see multiple PATREON charges in a single bank statement, each for a different amount.

Patreon also occasionally shows as PATREON INC on statements. The charge is always legitimate if you've signed up to support a creator — the question is usually just which creator it relates to.

Questions about Patreon charges

How do I find out which creator the Patreon charge is for?
Log into patreon.com and go to Memberships under your profile. Each active membership shows the creator's name and the monthly pledge amount. Match the amount on your bank statement to the pledge amount for each creator.
Can I get a refund from Patreon?
Patreon's standard policy doesn't offer automatic refunds. However, if you forgot to cancel and were charged for a month you didn't intend to pay, contact Patreon support — they sometimes issue refunds for recent accidental charges, especially if you haven't accessed any content that month.
Why was I charged by Patreon on the 1st when I signed up mid-month?
Patreon charges all memberships on the 1st of each month. When you first join a creator, you're charged a pro-rated amount for the remainder of the current month, then the full amount on the 1st of the following month. This is why you might see a small initial charge followed by a larger one.
